A legendary hot spring welcomed by a vermillion gate reminiscent of the Dragon Palace
Takeo Onsen is a renowned hot spring with 1,300 years of history, and its iconic gate was designed by Tatsuno Kingo, the renowned architect of Tokyo Station.
Beyond the gate stands a newer building where a Taisho-era bathhouse has been restored. The four corners of the ceiling feature zodiac animal reliefs that are said to pair with the remaining zodiac signs on the ceiling of Tokyo Station.
