The Outer Shrine is dedicated to Toyouke-no-Ōmikami, the deity of clothing, food, and shelter.
The area around the Outer Shrine has recently developed, with the opening of the "Sengu Museum" dedicated to the Shikinen Sengu renewal ceremony, and an increasing number of cafes and restaurants along the Outer Shrine approach.
