Dogo Onsen Main Building

Japan's oldest hot spring. A celebrated onsen beloved by Natsume Soseki

Dogo Onsen Honkan is Japan's oldest hot spring facility, located in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture, and is designated as an Important Cultural Property. The three-story wooden structure is also said to have inspired the bathhouse in "Spirited Away."

It also appears in Natsume Soseki's novel "Botchan." Visitors can tour the "Botchan's Room" where Soseki himself bathed, making it a popular literary pilgrimage destination for fans of his work.
