Muroji Temple is an ancient Shingon Buddhist monastery nestled in the deep valleys of Uda City. It earned the name "Women's Koya" because it welcomed female pilgrims during the era when Mount Koya prohibited women from entering. As you walk along the Muroji River after getting off the bus and cross the taiko bridge to enter the temple grounds, you'll find yourself enveloped in a mystical world surrounded by towering cedar trees.
