Shirakawa

Shirakawa City is a historic castle town located in southern Fukushima Prefecture. Known for Shirakawa-no-seki, one of the three ancient barriers of northern Japan, it prospered as a key post town on the Oshu Highway during the Edo period. Visitors can enjoy the famous Shirakawa ramen, traditional Shirakawa daruma dolls, and the reconstructed Shirakawa Castle.
