Tomioka Town in Fukushima Prefecture is known as the location of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. The entire town was evacuated following the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and nuclear accident, and continues its recovery efforts today. The beautiful cherry blossom avenue in the Yonomori district blooms in spring.
