Takachiho

Takachiho Town, located in the mountainous region of northern Miyazaki Prefecture, is a mystical town known as the stage of Japanese mythology. It features the beautiful Takachiho Gorge with its columnar basalt cliffs, Amanoiwato Shrine famous for the legend of Amaterasu's cave hiding, and traditional Takachiho Kagura dance passed down as the birthplace of night kagura.
