Karatsu, Saga

Karatsu City is a historic castle town in northern Saga Prefecture, facing the Genkai Sea. Known for the nationally designated scenic beauty Niji-no-Matsubara pine grove, Karatsu Castle, and traditional Karatsu pottery, the city is famous for the annual Karatsu Kunchi festival featuring 14 elaborate floats parading through the streets.
