Hamada

A coastal port city in western Shimane Prefecture facing the Sea of Japan. The ruins of Hamada Castle from the Sengoku period overlook the city, and the area is known for traditional Iwami Kagura performances. The high-quality nodoguro fish landed at Hamada Port is famous nationwide.
