Historic white-walled storehouses lining the Tamagawa River, an Important Preservation District
Stretching approximately 200 meters along the Tamagawa River in Kurayoshi, Tottori Prefecture, the white-walled earthen storehouses are a precious townscape where merchant houses and warehouses built from the Edo through Meiji periods still stand today.
Designated as a National Important Preservation District for Groups of Historic Buildings in 1998, several of these storehouses continue to be utilized as shops and galleries.
