A heritage facility preserving memories and lessons from a compound disaster
Located in Futaba Town, Fukushima Prefecture, this heritage facility transmits the history of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and the nuclear disaster to future generations. Through videos and authentic materials, visitors can experience the community's life before the disaster, the arrival of the earthquake and tsunami, and the process of evacuation and recovery following the nuclear accident.
Inside the facility, visitor testimonies and exhibits documenting the progression of the nuclear accident are displayed, allowing visitors to learn about the challenges posed by the compound disaster and the community's efforts toward revitalization.
