Shoyu no Sato on Shodoshima is a charming area where traditional soy sauce breweries dating back to the Edo period stand side by side. Stone warehouses and vintage factories line the streets, allowing visitors to experience the rich history of soy sauce production firsthand.

Inside the breweries, massive wooden barrels continue to ferment soy sauce, and visitors are greeted with the nostalgic aroma of koji mold in the air.
