Located in central Kagawa Prefecture, Ayagawa Town is a historic community that flourished as a temple town around Takimiya Tenmangu Shrine, known as a shrine dedicated to the god of learning. The clear Ayagawa River, from which the town takes its name, flows through this naturally rich area.
