Matsuyama
Matsuyama City, the capital of Ehime Prefecture, is renowned for Dogo Onsen, one of Japan's oldest hot springs, and Matsuyama Castle, one of the 12 original castles remaining in Japan. The city attracts many literature enthusiasts as it's associated with Natsume Soseki's novel "Botchan" and is the hometown of haiku poet Masaoka Shiki.
