Known as the central city of Tokachi region in Hokkaido, Obihiro is home to the Obihiro Racecourse where you can enjoy banei horse racing, the only draft horse racing in Japan. The city is also famous as the birthplace of butadon (pork bowl) and houses the main store of Rokkatei, a renowned confectionery.
