Hiraizumi

Hiraizumi is a historic town associated with the Oshu Fujiwara clan, registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The town preserves numerous cultural treasures including Chusonji Konjikido (Golden Hall) and Motsuji Temple, representing the Pure Land Buddhist culture of the Heian period.
