Makurazaki

Located at the southernmost tip of the Satsuma Peninsula in Kagoshima Prefecture, Makurazaki City is nationally renowned as one of Japan's leading producers of katsuobushi (dried bonito flakes). Fresh bonito is landed at Makurazaki Port, and the city is also famous for producing high-quality shochu.
