Awa

Awa City in northern Tokushima Prefecture is known for the natural formation called "Awa no Dochū" (Earth Pillars of Awa). These pillar-shaped landforms created by erosion are designated as a prefectural natural monument, and the city is also home to Kirhata-ji Temple, the 10th temple of the Shikoku 88-temple pilgrimage.
