Annaka

Annaka City in Gunma Prefecture is known as the birthplace of Niijima Jo, founder of Doshisha University. The famous Megane Bridge, a brick arch bridge from the Meiji era, spans the steep mountain pass of Usui-toge. Annaka Church, associated with Niijima Jo, is also a historic building that attracts many visitors.
