Itako

A picturesque water town in southeastern Ibaraki Prefecture. The annual Itako Iris Festival from late May to June features about 1 million iris flowers of 500 varieties in full bloom. The area is known for its scenic waterways including the Twelve Bridges of Maekawa River, where visitors can enjoy traditional boat rides.
