Omitama City in southeastern Ibaraki Prefecture is known as the gateway to Ibaraki Airport. The city has developed around Ibaraki Airport, which is shared with the Japan Air Self-Defense Force Hyakuri Air Base, and visitors can also enjoy local hot springs at Omitama Onsen Kotobuki.
