Nagaoka

Nagaoka City, the central city of the Chuetsu region in Niigata Prefecture, is nationally famous for the Nagaoka Fireworks Festival, one of Japan's three major fireworks displays. The city is also known as the birthplace of Kawai Tsuginosuke, a hero of the late Edo period, and Admiral Yamamoto Isoroku, and is home to Nagaoka University of Technology.
