Sanjo

Sanjo City in central Niigata Prefecture is renowned for its metalworking industry that dates back to the Edo period. Together with neighboring Tsubame City, it forms the famous "Tsubame-Sanjo" region known for high-quality metal products. The annual Sanjo Festival features traditional floats and portable shrines parading through the streets.
