Amakusa

Amakusa City in Kumamoto Prefecture is an island city rich in Christian history, famously associated with Amakusa Shiro. The Amakusa Christian Museum displays precious historical materials, and Sakitsu Village is registered as a World Heritage site as part of the "Hidden Christian Sites in the Nagasaki Region". The area is also known for its traditional Amakusa ceramics.
