Nagiso Town in Nagano Prefecture is known for the historic post town of Tsumago-juku from the Edo period. As the 42nd station on the Nakasendo trail, Tsumago-juku has beautifully preserved streetscapes from that era and attracts many visitors. Mount Nagiso, the town's symbol, is also popular among hiking enthusiasts.
