A mountainous village located at the northernmost tip of Nagano Prefecture, known for the beautiful valley scenery of Akiyamago near the border with Niigata Prefecture. Close to the Shiga Kogen area, it's also famous for producing high-quality Koshihikari rice cultivated in its rich natural environment.
