Asuka

Asuka Village in Nara Prefecture is known as the historic birthplace of ancient Japan's capital during the Asuka period. The village is dotted with precious ancient ruins including the Ishibutai Kofun, Takamatsuzuka Tomb, Kitora Tomb, Asuka-dera Temple (Japan's oldest full-scale temple), and the mysterious Sakafuneishi stone.
