Takahashi

Takahashi City in western Okayama Prefecture is a historic town known for Bitchu Matsuyama Castle, which has the highest existing castle keep in Japan. The city is also associated with Yamada Hokoku, a prominent Confucian scholar of the late Edo period, and features beautiful traditional streetscapes with Bengara lattice work and the gardens of Raikyu-ji Temple.
