Matsuzaki
Matsuzaki Town, located on the west coast of Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka Prefecture, is known for its historic streets lined with namako-kabe (traditional plaster walls with square tiles). The town is famous as a major producer of salted cherry leaves used for sakura-mochi sweets throughout Japan. The Iwashina School, built in the Meiji era, is designated as an Important Cultural Property showcasing Western-style architecture of that period.
