Shiroishi

Shiroishi City in Miyagi Prefecture is a historic castle town associated with Katakura Kojuro, a retainer of the Date family. The reconstructed Shiroishi Castle and the columnar basalt formations of Zaimokuiwa Rock are popular attractions. The local specialty Shiroishi Umen features short wheat noodles with a light, gentle flavor.
