Mine City in Yamaguchi Prefecture is nationally famous for Akiyoshidai, Japan's largest karst plateau, and Akiyoshido Cave, a special natural monument that extends underground. Beppu Benten Pond with its beautiful emerald green waters is also a popular tourist attraction.
