Yanai

Yanai City in Yamaguchi Prefecture is known for its historic white-walled streetscape. The beautiful townscape preserves the atmosphere of the Edo period, decorated with the famous goldfish lanterns called 'kingyo chochin.' During the annual Yanai Festival, these colorful lanterns beautifully illuminate the night sky.
